Two new stylish restaurants come to Bush Airport

Bush Intercontinental Airport celebrated the opening of two new innovative restaurants, Le Grand Comptoir and Real Food Company, at a VIP event on Tuesday, Dec. 15. The debut of these two new hot spots in Terminal C mark the first locations in the country.
The restaurants are a brand name owned by SSP America which manages and owns many operations in America and Europe.
“Houston is a global city with connections to 170 destinations worldwide,” said Eric Potts, interim director of aviation for Houston. “George Bush Intercontinental Airport is the perfect partner for new restaurant concepts like Real Food Company and Le Grand Comptoir because of our accessibility, location and high passenger traffic.”
Le Grand Comptoir is a bona fide French brasserie accommodating more than 80 varieties of wine which can be purchased by the glass. This style of wine bar is truly unlike any other found in airports. The restaurant offers a French menu, designed by executive chef Tom Ryan; including signature crab bakes and strawberry crepes.
Le Grand Comptoir also boasts a premium bar, selection of handcrafted beers and serves specialty coffee. True to its name, Real Food Company offers a mouth-watering display of cuisine in a marche-style restaurant. The kitchen is visible from the floor, making it a theatrical experience for travelers. The dedicated head chef provides eight exceptionally different menus, so there is always something for everyone.
“This is an out-of-the-box thing for an airport,” said Potts. “Houston likes to be first in a lot of things so with this new inventive way of presenting food to our customers as they travel through this city, hopefully they will come back.”
